Thoracic Surgery
Thymic tumors are rare, and the most common type is thymoma, which grows slowly but is malignant in nature. Their prognosis depends on the degree of invasion and the possibility of complete resection. The scarcity of cases means that clinical experience is limited and scattered, and the available literature is mainly based on retrospective series and single-center data, making it difficult to compare results due to a lack of unified classifications.
At the national level, the Thoracic Surgery Service and the Neuromuscular Pathology Unit, led by Dr. Isabel Illa, have been a reference in the treatment of these tumors and the associated paraneoplastic syndromes, creating the country’s first multidisciplinary thymic tumor committee. As a result of this experience, the Update Course on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Thymic Tumors has been organized, with its 4th edition taking place on October 16 and 17, aimed at all professionals involved in their multidisciplinary care.

Reconeixement als professionals de Farmàcia de Sant Pau durant el 68 congrés de Farmàcia Hospitalària
L’equip de professionals del Servei de Farmàcia de Sant Pau han rebut diversos reconeixements durant el 68 congrés de Farmàcia Hospitalària, celebrat recentment a Bilbao.
• Daniel Cardona Pera, cap clínic del Servei de Farmàcia, especialista en nutrició parenteral i recentment jubilat, ha rebut la medalla 2023 Joaquin Bonal, que destaca a aquelles persones que han contribuït decisivament, al llarg de la seva trajectòria professional, al desenvolupament de la Farmàcia Hospitalària a Espanya.
• El projecte Safhe “Ús de la intel·ligència artificial basada en el processament del llenguatge natural per detectar problemes potencials de seguretat associats al tractament anticoagulant en pacients amb síndrome antifosfolípida” ha rebut el primer premi SEFH-ROVI al desenvolupament de la Farmàcia Hospitalària.

• L’article: “Utilitat dels diagnòstics alertants CIE-10 per identificar esdeveniments adversos pels medicaments als serveis d'urgències” de Jesús Ruiz Ramos J, Marc Santos Puig, Laia López Vinardell, María Pedemonte i Pons, Mireia Puig Campmany, M. Antònia Mangues-Bafalluy, Ana Juanes Borrego, ha rebut el primer accèssit de Farmàcia Hospitalària J.R. Ferrándiz 2023, com a millor article revista Farmacia Hospitalaria.
• El Servei de Farmàcia ha tingut una important participació en aquest 68 Congrés amb: 2 ponències, 1 comunicació oral, 3 comunicacions operatives, 1 cas clínic i 11 comunicacions científiques.
