The new Sant Pau Health Vocational Training Institute will offer the entire non-university educational pathway in the healthcare field: from initial training and, later, professional certification to intermediate and advanced vocational training cycles, as well as continuing education for healthcare professionals.

The institute will form part of our Sant Pau Learning Campus, which also hosts the Faculty of Medicine and the University School of Nursing of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, alongside other institutions focused on health, healthcare research, and social services.

Every year, the institute will welcome around 450 vocational training students, aiming to meet the evolving needs of the sector and the growing demand for healthcare and personal care professionals expected in the coming decades.

Training Offer

The Sant Pau Health Vocational Training Institute will provide the complete non-university educational pathway in the healthcare sector, from initial vocational education to intermediate and higher-level cycles. It will also offer occupational and continuing education.

• Specialisation course in IT/Biomedical Health
• Occupational training in the biosanitary and biotechnological sectors
• Continuous training for workers at Sant Pau Hospital
• Skills accreditation counselling

Pre-registration and Enrolment

Applications for pre-enrolment will be submitted through the Departament d'Educació i de Formació Professional. 

Once the final list of admitted students for each school has been published, the enrolment period begins for those with assigned places.

Location

In the 2026–2027 academic year, the institute will be provisionally located at 350 Lepant Street. It is expected to move to its permanent location within the Sant Pau historical site in the 2028–2029 academic year, once renovation works are completed.

The institute will be part of the Sant Pau Learning Campus, which also includes the Faculty of Medicine and the University School of Nursing of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, along with around fifteen other institutions focused on education and research in health, care, and social services.

Schedules

Schedules will vary depending on the training programme:

• PFI - Assistant in healthcare centers: 1 group in the morning.
• IVET - Nursing Care Assistant: 3 groups in the morning and 3 groups in the afternoon.
• IVET - Pharmacy and Parapharmacy: 1 group in the morning and 1 group in the afternoon.
• VET - Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory: 1 group in the morning and 1 group in the afternoon.
