Thoracic Surgery
Thymic tumors are rare, and the most common type is thymoma, which grows slowly but is malignant in nature. Their prognosis depends on the degree of invasion and the possibility of complete resection. The scarcity of cases means that clinical experience is limited and scattered, and the available literature is mainly based on retrospective series and single-center data, making it difficult to compare results due to a lack of unified classifications.
At the national level, the Thoracic Surgery Service and the Neuromuscular Pathology Unit, led by Dr. Isabel Illa, have been a reference in the treatment of these tumors and the associated paraneoplastic syndromes, creating the country’s first multidisciplinary thymic tumor committee. As a result of this experience, the Update Course on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Thymic Tumors has been organized, with its 4th edition taking place on October 16 and 17, aimed at all professionals involved in their multidisciplinary care.

L’Escola d’Infermeria de Sant Pau celebra els seus 70 anys d’història coincidint amb el nou curs acadèmic 2024-25 i amb la publicació del seu llibre recopilatori “70 anys d’escola universitària d’infermeria, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau”.
El 9 de juliol de 1954, el “director general de Enseñanzas” va aprovar el reconeixement de l’Escola d’Auxiliars Tècnics Sanitaris femenina de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, actualment coneguda com l’EUI-Sant Pau (Escola Universitària d’Infermeria) on el primer curs acadèmic va tenir lloc el 29 d’octubre del 1954.
Aquest passat 29 d’octubre 2024, l’EUI-Sant Pau va celebrar els seus 70 anys donant la benvinguda al nou curs acadèmic 2024-25 amb la publicació del llibre “70 anys d’escola universitària d’infermeria, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau”. Un llibre que recull tota la història de l’evolució de l’Escola, des de les seves fites més importants i les persones que han contribuït al seu llegat, fins al moment actual, una fase de transformació tecnològica i digital i de creixement de l’oferta formativa, prioritzant sempre la seva filosofia humanista, artística i feminista.
Durant aquest nou curs que s’inicia, l’EUI-Sant Pau serà la seu de diverses reunions científiques, activitats obertes i celebrarà la Jornada d’estudiants de l’ADEIC (Escoles de Catalunya, Balears i Andorra).
