Skill Center: Simulation and Clinical Skills
The Sant Pau Skill Center is a training space specialized in clinical simulation, with more than 600 m² dedicated to enabling healthcare professionals to safely acquire complex technical skills and achieve the relational and situational coordination competencies required in a changing healthcare.
This space is aimed at healthcare professionals (specialists in medicine and surgery, nursing staff, residents, and students) and seeks to promote the use of simulation as an innovative educational tool.
It is part of the Sant Pau Learning Campus and is developed with the support of the Fundació Privada de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and the collaboration of the Sant Pau Research Institute.
What we offer through the simulation centre
A specialised environment for training in complex clinical situations in a safe setting and improving quality of care
Aimed at medical and surgical specialists, nurses, residents and health sciences students, and also open to external institutions wishing to organise training activities.
Support in educational design, implementation and management (logistical, financial and organisational).
Access to the experience and expertise of Sant Pau professionals in an environment of high complexity and excellence.

Available spaces
Healthcare Process Simulation Area
Rooms equipped with high-fidelity simulators and technological resources, ideal for recreating clinical scenarios with the highest possible degree of realism, suitable for Zone 2 and Zone 3 training activities.
Equipment:
- 3 simulation classrooms equipped as hospital wards.
- 1 space for the simulation technician and briefing activities.
- 1 consultation-style room.
Dry Lab: Clinical Skills Area
Three multipurpose rooms for low-fidelity simulations, with the possibility of setting up simultaneous stations and conducting activities using small anatomical specimens.
Equipment:
- 1 multipurpose room with 75 m2.
- 1 multipurpose room with 54 m2.
- 1 multipurpose room with 11 m2.
Wet Lab: Experimental Surgery Area
50 m² surgical room equipped with 4 operating tables and 2 radiation-shielded tables for training activities in Zone 0 and Zone 1 of experimental surgery using animal models or cadaveric specimens.
Equipment:
- 4 complete anaesthesia systems (monitoring, mechanical ventilation).
- 4 complete 4K laparoscopic towers from Covidien, surgical lights, operating and radiology tables, and an echocardiography system (Philips Affiniti CVx).
- 2 surgical C-arms (Philips BV Pulsera and GE OEC Elite).
