Sant Pau Forum
Where ideas heal the future
As part of the 625th anniversary of Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, national and international leaders and key figures will gather at the Hospital to share their visions, compare challenges and outline the major transformations that will shape the future of health.
Expert conversations
to anticipate the future of health
At a time of unprecedented acceleration, scientific advances, innovation and major social transformations are radically redefining how we care for, prevent and understand health.
In this context, Sant Pau Forum emerges as a journey through the key areas that will define health in the coming decades: cardiology, neurosciences, complex surgeries, advanced therapies and hematology, the sex and gender perspective, fragility and ageing, leading towards a shared vision of the health of the future.
The series brings together leading voices from around the world to drive strategic conversations, foster new alliances and build a shared vision of the future of health.
Sant Pau Forum is not just a space for debate: it is a space to imagine, today, the health of the future.
From 17 November 2026
Reflection sessions
Sant Pau Forum
The series will focus on Hospital de Sant Pau’s areas of excellence and the key challenges shaping the future of health systems. Each session will bring together clinical experts, researchers and opinion leaders to discuss how biomedical research, medical technologies and healthcare models will evolve.
Neurosciences
19 and 20 January 2027
From brain disorders to brain health: are we ready for the shift?
Are we ready to act before symptoms appear? Neuroscience and AI are advancing faster than clinical, ethical, and regulatory frameworks.
Complex surgeries
26 and 27 January 2027
What does it take to transform surgical innovation into a sustainable model?
How far can surgical innovation grow without straining the system? Robotics and data promise better outcomes, but require redesigning processes and costs.
Cardiology
9 and 10 February 2027
Where are we and where are we going? From standardized treatment to personalized cardiology
Cardiology is evolving from a standardized approach, focused on disease and populations, towards a personalized model that adapts diagnostic and therapeutic decisions to the biology, risk and specific needs of each patient.
Advanced therapies and Hematology
23 and 24 February 2027
From Innovation to Access: Making Advanced Therapies a Reality
From CAR-T to gene editing: towards a new generation of therapies.
Fragility and ageing
9 and 10 March 2027
How should healthcare evolve in the age of longevity and frailty?
We will live longer, but under what conditions? Longevity is revealing the limits of a system designed for acute care, not chronic complexity.
Sex and gender
16 and 17 March 2027
The gender perspective as a key to improving quality and equity in care.
Women’s health continues to be insufficiently studied and prioritised; it is necessary to focus on the role of the hospital as a driver of transformation in care, research and training.
The future of health
May
2027
From care provider to system coordinator and driver: are hospitals and governments ready?
Integrating data, deploying AI, and coordinating stakeholders: the system requires hospitals capable of anticipating, deciding, and leading new models, in dialogue with governments and decision-making bodies.
