The health rambla: 625 years of hospital care in Barcelona
Guided tour “The health rambla: 625 years of hospital care in Barcelona”, led by historian Antoni Conejo, from the Institut de Recerca en Cultures Medievals (IRCVM) of the University of Barcelona.
The activity proposes a route through some of the main sites of historical hospital care in Barcelona, following the axis of present-day Hospital Street.

Open Doors: La Mercè celebrations
On 24 September, as part of La Mercè celebrations, the Modernist Site will offer a free admission day with recreational and heritage activities.
Exhibition: “Les fites històriques de l’Hospital” (The Hospital’s historic milestones”)
Roundtable on the Hospital’s Baroque works
Presentation and analysis of the Baroque paintings preserved at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, highlighting their artistic, religious, and historical significance within hospital heritage. The session will explore the context of their creation: commissions, purchases, legacies, and there will be a guided tour of the exhibited works once installed.

Roundtable dedicated to the exhibition curated by Reis Fontanals, offering a journey through the institution across the medical advances achieved over the centuries at the Hospital.
Cor Vivaldi: Historical-musical concert for the Hospital’s 625th anniversary
Unique concert combining music and historical explanations to explore Sant Pau’s evolution over its 625-year history. Cor Vivaldi will perform works from various historical periods linked to five key moments in the Hospital’s trajectory.
48h Open House BCN 2026
The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau will participate in the 48h Open House festival with a special day of guided tours and open doors. For the first time, the three historic spaces of the institution will open simultaneously: the Old Raval Hospital, the Modernist Site, and the New Hospital, showing architectural and healthcare evolution over the centuries.
Roundtable on hospital activity in the modernist pavilions
Dedicated to Hospital activity in the Modernist Site and the era change that this represented, covering healthcare, urban and political context, as well as the functional and social impact of the new headquarters designed by Domènech i Montaner. The session will also reflect on the institutional transformation process initiated with the relocation, culminating decades later in the surpassing of the traditional hospital model.
