“Plecs del temps” art installation
From 1 October to 1 November, the historical recreation space of the Sant Rafael Pavilion at the Recinte Modenista de Sant Pau will host Plecs del temps, an installation by visual artist Javier Pérez.
The proposal is part of the commemoration of the 625th anniversary of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and is presented in collaboration with the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation. Javier Pérez is the guest visual artist for this year's LIFE Victoria cycle, dedicated to “Exile”.
The installation will form part of the usual tour of the Recinte Modernista.
Exhibition: “Caring Innovating Advancing”
From 8 October to 17 December
Tuesday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The “Caring, Innovating, Advancing” exhibition looks back at the Hospital’s major medical milestones and contributions throughout its six centuries of history through different key moments: the origins of the institution, the transformation of medicine during the Enlightenment, the major scientific advances of the 19th century, the development of a new healthcare culture during the 20th century, and the consolidation, already in the 21st century, of the link between healthcare and research.
Roundtable on the Hospital’s Baroque works
Presentation and analysis of the Baroque paintings preserved at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, highlighting their artistic, religious, and historical significance within hospital heritage. The session will explore the context of their creation: commissions, purchases, legacies, and there will be a guided tour of the exhibited works once installed.

Presentation of the exhibition “The Hospital’s historic milestones”
Roundtable dedicated to the exhibition curated by Reis Fontanals, offering a journey through the institution across the medical advances achieved over the centuries at the Hospital.
Cor Vivaldi: Historical-musical concert for the Hospital’s 625th anniversary
Unique concert combining music and historical explanations to explore Sant Pau’s evolution over its 625-year history. Cor Vivaldi will perform works from various historical periods linked to five key moments in the Hospital’s trajectory.
48h Open House BCN 2026
The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau will participate in the 48h Open House festival with a special day of guided tours and open doors. For the first time, the three historic spaces of the institution will open simultaneously: the Old Raval Hospital, the Modernist Site, and the New Hospital, showing architectural and healthcare evolution over the centuries.
Roundtable on hospital activity in the modernist pavilions
Dedicated to Hospital activity in the Modernist Site and the era change that this represented, covering healthcare, urban and political context, as well as the functional and social impact of the new headquarters designed by Domènech i Montaner. The session will also reflect on the institutional transformation process initiated with the relocation, culminating decades later in the surpassing of the traditional hospital model.
