The Hospital de Sant Pau's Emergency Service was inaugurated in 1967, making it the first of its kind in the country. Its key objectives are making its services accessible, facilitating healthcare continuity and ensuring high-quality healthcare through the efficient and fair use of the resources available to it. Other main goals include promoting innovation in healthcare management and the use of technologies, as well as playing a key role in the Hospital's research activities and training medical students and healthcare professionals.
